Cat or Fetal Pig?

The course has lots of support and instruction for the use of a cat as the dissection specimen for the labs and practicals from modules 6 onward. You will find handouts, video practicals, end more. A fetal pig can be used if the use of a cat would be stressful for the student or the budget for the course is tight. The cat was chosen as the recommended specimen because the organs are more developed and more similar to human anatomy.

If you opt for he fetal pig, a specimen should be ordered at about module 5. A good supplier is Home Training Tools.

Home Training Tools doesn't carry the cat specimen. You can order it at about module 4 to 5 from Carolina Biological Supply at this webpage. I recommend at least double-injected option.
