Live classes will have an online classroom component. Through the month of August there will be several online classroom orientations that students can participate in. In early August and throughout August watch on the site-wide calendar located on the site homepage for upcoming opportunities to join in to learn more about what the online classroom can do.
For the actual course meetings, you will see the teacher’s classroom link listed near the top of the course page. It is clickable and the times for that teacher’s sessions will be listed under it. All times are Central time. About 15-minutes before class time, student log on in and click that link to go to a page where they type in their first and last name and then click to start up the classroom. The first time a computer is used for the classroom, there will be a prompt to install a small file that will include a Java version known to work well with the classroom software and is the launcher program used for later entries to the classroom. Once installed, subsequent entries to the classroom will be a tiny little file with the information about what server that particular classroom in on at the time. Double-click it to start the launcher and 30 seconds later you will be in the live, online classroom.
